"We feel that an event like debatehead will not only provide a forum for the consideration of issues at greater length and in greater detail than citizens would encounter in the media, but also make a more general statement about the health of the public sphere and steps that can be taken by each of us to restore it."

Currently, events will be held at The Mountain in Chinatown. Dates to be announced.
Steven Rafferty has studied rhetoric, debate and public sphere theory at the University of Pittsburgh (2001-04) and the University of Southern California (2005-Present). His research interests include the discursive spaces opened by popular music within society and the role of musicians as social critics. In addition to his involvement in Debatehead, Steven is currently taking classes at USC, and playing music with the Los Angeles rock band Long Distance Call. His past experiences in music and academia in both Pittsburgh and Los Angeles have contributed significantly to his desire to see a new form of public participation in the consideration and implementation of social and political policies.

Arnie Saiki is an interactive content producer in Los Angeles. Producing conceptual shows with performing writers and musicians, he has performed in NY, Hawaii and LA.
